This weekend I'll be back down in Salem for the 67th Annual Salem Art Fair & Festival. Normally, I have both my jewelry and wall sculptures at this show but this year I will only have my jewelry. You see, jewelry and sculpture are two separate categories, so I have to submit two separate applications (and application fees) and hope that I get juried into both. This is done online, and when I completed my sculpture application I never hit that final submit button and I didn't realize my mistake until way too late. Whoops.
This week, I'm posting as many wall sculptures as I can in my Etsy shop and I will have free shipping coupons available at my booth. I'll also have a lots of new jewelry designs including some incredible one-of-a-kind pieces like these. Hope to see you there!
I'll have a table at this incredible jewelry buying opportunity!

There will be a selection of my jewelry this Thursday through Sunday at "The Celebration of Creativity". A juried fine arts exhibit & sale set in a distinctive gallery style. It was started over 35 years ago by a small group at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Beaverton, Oregon. The goal was to meet the need of local artists for a recurring professional venue and to make fine art available and affordable to the community.
Over the years, this showcase of local and regional talent has grown to become one of the premier art shows in the Portland area, famous for its beautiful presentation, a wide variety of media, and an ever-changing array of artists.
Proceeds used for local arts awards, art education scholarships, art literacy programs, and to support art in the community.
Da Vinci Arts Fair - Saturday December 5th 10 am - 6 pm, 2508 NE Everett, Portland

Ever wonder just how I make my unique anodized aluminum jewelry? Well here are a basic steps involved in making one of my cuffs.
This August I took an incredible 5 day workshop were I learned how to hammer metal into cool curving shapes. I came away with so many ideas I hardly know what to do with myself.
Now I'm hammer crazy and I can see that my work is going to develop in an exciting direction. The shapes are great but when I anodized them, the colors have such depth and beauty!
With the first group of jewelry pieces I've made, I tried to evoke the feeling of fabric billowing in the wind. They will be making their debut at the Local 14 Art Show the first weekend of October.
I made this wall sculpture to celebrate the opening of Portland's newest bridge, Tillikum Crossing. The actual bridge is lit up with 178 LED lights that change color with the climate and water temperature of the Willamette River, so I have represented that with the different colors of anodized aluminum.
I will be submitting it for a design competition sponsored by the Creative Metal Arts Guild of Portland with the theme of bridges.
I'll be selling my jewelry and sculptures August 7,8,&9th at the Sunriver Art Faire, just south of Bend. What a fantastic excuse for me to visit Oregon's beautiful high desert.

I'll be selling my anodized aluminum jewelry at this show Wednesday, May 6th from 10 am to 5:30 pm. It's a good place to get that last minuet Mother's Day gift and 10% of all the artists sales go to the OHSU Heart Research Center.
Like Valentine's Day, the wedding anniversary gift has its origins in the Roman Empire when husbands would crown their wives with a silver wreath on their 25th anniversary and a gold one on their 50th. Over the years other gifts became associated with specific anniversaries all over Europe. The current list of "traditional" gifts in the USA was established in 1937 by the American National Retail Jeweler Association. OK, so it's a blatant marketing ploy but it does help us come up with ideas for gifts and the 10th anniversary is aluminum or tin. There aren't a lot of romantic things made out of aluminum but my jewelry or sculptures really fit the bill.
